Graven Images - the roots of Ghost Monster

Romance books, paranormal romance and horror books at Dorchester Publishing

You are cordially invited to follow the above link to my short article at Leisure's website that talks about the inspiration behind Ghost Monster. It started with visiting a cursed monolith in a local churchyard... A standing stone known as THE EVIL EYE... By the way, if anyone reading this happens to visit St. Lawrence's Church, Adwick-le-Street, Yorkshire, England be sure to read the article first. Beware, beware, beware...

Leisure's Simon Clark Page

By the way, you might like to check out the Simon Clark page at Leisure. Vampyrrhic's recently taken off in a big way again, and ordering through Leisure might be easiest way to find it for customers outside the US. I understand Blood Crazy is back in print but not listed on the Dorchester page (I'm looking into it!). Anyway, here's that link:

Ghost Monster by Simon Clark published by Robert Hale

Here's that link to Robert Hale, the publisher of the hardback of Ghost Monster

Ghost Monster Hardback Unleashed

That's right. The hardback of Ghost Monster is now out from Robert Hale Limited in the UK. It's a beautifully produced book, and I know the collectors find the Hale editions especially to their taste.

And just to give you a flavour of the story - here is the opening paragraph:-

'Rebecca watched the man. Love and rage clashed inside of her. Conflicting emotions tried to batter each other into submission. Yet one couldn't triumph over the other. As she crept up on him through the long cemetery grass she saw herself snatching up a piece of shattered gravestone then hurling it in his face. However, a second later she imagined his mouth on hers, as he pushed her back into a bed of wild flowers. And there, between the tombs, she'd breathlessly beg him to take pleasure in her body.'

This scene takes place on a cliff top cemetery in the shadows of a mysterious old house known as Murrain Hall. A house that is haunted by something much more substantial and vicious than mere ghosts.

Until next time...

GET READY FOR TOMB WARS!

Soon I'll post the cover for WHITBY VAMPYRRHIC here(and it's a real beauty!). Meanwhile, just to let you know that Bad Moon Books have published my novella THIS GHOSTING TIDE. The inspiration came from when I made a series of ghost hunting programs for the BBC. I had a great time visiting supposedly haunted castles, mansions, jails and even a WW2 airbase. So THIS GHOSTING TIDE has a sprinkling of autobiography in there; it's also my first book that is intentionally humorous, albeit darkly, gruesomely and horrifically ;--) The tagline is 'When ghosthunters become the hunted.' And sums up the jist of the plot! Bad Moon Books have done a great job with the production and there are terrific illustrations by Zach McCain. For more on this title visit www.badmoonbooks.com

Until next time!

GHOST MONSTER !!

Welcome to the Ghost Monster blog !

My name is Simon Clark. I'm the author of Vampyrrhic, Blood Crazy, The Midnight Man, She Loves Monsters, Darkness Demands and many other horror novels and short stories. Our Lord of Quarters is to appear in the Clive Barker sanctioned, and inspired, anthology Hellbound Hearts (edited by Paul Kane and Marie O'Regan) in September, 09.

Here are the details of Hellbound Hearts:-

Hellbound Hearts, edited by Paul Kane and Marie O'Regan, a collection of stories based in Clive Barker's Hellraiser universe, and featuring work from the likes of Christopher Golden & Mike Mignola, Neil Gaiman & Dave McKean, Tim Lebbon, Sarah Pinborough, Simon Clark, Conrad Williams and Kelley Armstrong, among many others.

The purpose of the Ghost Monster blog is to bring you news, information, excerpts, videos and other goodies (or should that be baddies?) about my next novel (publication date tba).

Ghost Monster is my tribute to the horror films that I grew up with, especially the Hammer Horror series, starring the great Peter Cushing, and the blood chilling Christopher Lee.

Ghost Monster is loud, its brash, it doesn't take prisoners AND it is lurid Technicolor horror with a splash of gruesome humour.

So, your more than welcome to drop by at this blog at any time. It'll be bloody good fun.
